Spring Contracting Group served as subcontractor to Schiebel Construction for the 6,300 SF LQX Chemical Storage Building at Cove Point in Lusby, Maryland, a facility supporting operations at one of the most advanced liquefied natural gas terminals in the United States. Designed by WGM Architects, the project involved the full erection of a pre-engineered metal building system tailored for secure chemical storage and operational resilience. Our scope included furnishing and erecting the pre-engineered metal building (PEMB); structural steel, roof, envelope, insulation, doors, and windows. The building was engineered to meet strict environmental and safety standards, supporting the broader mission of Cove Point LNG in energy distribution and conservation. Envelope systems were installed to ensure thermal stability and weather resistance, while the roof and wall assemblies were coordinated for long-term durability and low maintenance. Doors and windows were selected for secure access and ventilation, aligned with the facility’s operational protocols. Due to the sensitive nature of the site and its proximity to critical infrastructure, interior photography was not permitted, and only exterior views from the surrounding areas are available. The PEMB structure was delivered with precision and efficiency, supporting a fast-track schedule and rigorous quality benchmarks. Spring Contracting Group is proud to have contributed to a facility that plays a role in global energy supply and environmental stewardship.
